| Vitality (www.vitalchange.org.uk) is a UK-based NGO primarily run by consumers. They have developed a training manual to help consumers train carers of people with SCI. The manual is primarily intended for low-resource countries but is really applicable for anywhere. A guide helps trainers teach a class of carers and SCI participants in basic life skills, promoting a better quality of life. The guide covers understanding health care, physical skills in moving patients and wheelchairs, and understanding disability within the community (uploaded with consent). |
